It's been a long time since I've played with Brothers with Different Mothers. Years have passed and several various incarnations of the band have existed. One thing that hasn't changed is the instant energy this group brings to every venue they play.
The next venue in the Brothers' crosshairs is Cornerstone Pub on Main Street in Argenta North Little Rock this Saturday 2/9/2013.
Guaranteed to be fun, loud and rocking. Come join the party.

Then, it's been a long time coming...FreeVerse is back at the AfterThought next Friday night bringing you some funky jams. Make a night of it. Music starts around 9. We need to show this Hillcrest staple just how much of a funky good time we can have. We'll be turning out the favorites and you never know what jam we'll slide into. Guaranteed to keep you're toe tapping. Brian & Scott will be laying down those heavy lines for Adam & Dave to color while Brent does what only Brent can do, pulling triple duty on the lead vocals, guitars and harmonicas.

Then make your way down Kavanaugh to the AfterThought for the core trio (Gregg, Brian & Dave) of Morange to play you some blues. This month the AfterThought is featuring blues on Thursday nights. When they asked us to play a night full of blues, we naturally accepted. We'll be rushing down after we finish up at the Ozark Outdoor Supply, so the music should start up by 9pm.

Here we go again. Last time The Mercers played the AfterThought, we were competing with the Sugar Bowl. I think we all knew how that would turn out. This time, we have Wes Moore fronting the band, so on Friday June 8th, lets show him what a Mercer's show looks like at the AfterThought. Be sure to click the photo and share the event with your friends. Music starts at 9pm. See you there!

It's a new year with loads of possibilities. I'm playing music more now than I ever have, and I'm loving every minute of it. After my accident with the trolly tracks downtown and breaking my leg this past August, I was devastated. I didn't know if I'd ever be able to waltz into a gig with my horn over my shoulder again, but I landed back on my own two feet running. Not literally, but the music is really taking off.
I found out recently that I'm going to be a dad. A little boy to follow in my footsteps, whether or not in the same direction. He really has no choice but to be immersed in music from birth, all of his relatives are musicians you know. We're naming him David Wheeler Williams III, Trey.
With the climax of Cody Belew & the Mercers, Cody has decided to move away to Nashville chasing his dream of making it as a country artist. We still have a few shows sprinkled through the end of the year with him. It was a fun ride. I've definitely got my foot in the door with Big John Miller and his band. John has really started using the Little Rock Horns a lot. I'm so stoked to see how this relationship develops.
Reading this back in one sitting seems like everything is happening so fast. I've been writing a blurb here and there for about a month now. Trey is really starting to show. I'm so excited.
The wedding gigs have begun! Duos, Trios, Quartets, the Mercers as a 5 piece, my 6 piece Twice Sax, the Mercers as an 8 piece, Big John Miller plus the Little Rock Horns...the list goes on and on. Plus I just found out I'm playing the 3rd reed book for Chicago the musical. Tenor/Bari/Sop/Bass Clarinet. I better get my soprano looked at and beef up my bass clarinet chops.
I think I'd better go ahead and post this. Don't let me forget to tell you about the website gigs
